Brown's August Meetup

Meet SnapGoods' CTO, a Kickstarter Film All-Star, and the brains behind Watson

The NYC Brown University Meetup is having it's first meetup of 2011 on AUGUST 9th!

Enjoy short presentations by recent and not-so-recent Brown graduates at our casual classroom-style hour long meetup. We'll be asking for $5 at the door for food/venue expenses. We've quite the tantalizing lineup this time around:

  • John Goodwin, CTO & Co-Founder of SnapGoods - hailed by TechCrunch as the "Zipcar of Gadgets"
  • Alison Klayman, Documentary Director and Producer of "Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry" - a movie about the recently released Chinese artist, raising over $50,000 on Kickstarter
  • Steve Daniels, Researcher in IBM's Social Computing Group at the Watson Research Center - working on "Watson", the killer "Jeopardy!" computer

Come to hear people speak and figure out who's who from Brown in New York.

Snacks, refreshments, and name-tags will be provided.

Time: Check-in begins at 7 pm
The presentations will be from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
