The Brown Club in New York is proud to present a panel of experts – each with a unique perspective on the process – to address the big issues and small details that will help your family make wise college decisions, whether your student is just embarking on college prep, or is already awaiting college acceptance letters.
About our experts:
- Bob Clagett, Brown '73, Harvard (Ed. M.), was a Senior Admissions Advisor at Middlebury College, and previously Dean of Admissions. Bob was Senior Admissions Officer and Associate Director of Financial Aid at Harvard College for many years. His current passion is for the Gap Year, and he is a member of the Board of Directors of Thinking Beyond Borders, seeking to empower and inspire students through global action. www.thinkingbeyondborders.org
- Steve LeMenager spent many years in senior leadership roles at Princeton University, including Director of Admission. A graduate of Harvard University (Ed. M.), he is President of Edvice, LLC, International Educational Consulting in Princeton, NJ. www.edviceprinceton.com
- Carol Barash, PhD, is founder and CEO of Story to College, offering students in an innovative approach to the college essay. Carol taught for many years at Princeton University, the University of Michigan and Rutgers University, and was a member of the Douglass College admissions committee. www.storytocollege.com
- Karen Berlin Ishii, '78, has over 20 years' teaching experience, specializing in individualized prep for the SAT, ACT, and other tests. She has taught for The Princeton Review and headed Boston Academic Tutors, creating courses for The British School in Boston, among others. www.karenberlinishii.com
There will also be time for attendees' questions.
The event is open to alumni, family, and friends. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and attend as a family. Space is limited!
Light refreshments will be served.
Cost: $40 per ticket for Brown Club members, $45 per ticket for non-members.
Each ticket admits up to 2 family members.
