It’s the inaugural Brown Club in NY 5K Classic (Fun Run/Walk) on gorgeous Governor’s Island.  A chance to run, walk, fly a kite, toss a Frisbee and enjoy quality time with friends and family and win some great prizes from our sponsors. 
 

Date: June 2, 2012 (Fun Run/Walk Start Time: 12 noon ) 

Noon: 5K Classic Run/Walk:

  • Includes: 5K Classic Registration, Limited Edition T-shirt, box lunch, drinks, plus special goodies from our sponsors 

All Afternoon: Field Day/Picnic:

  • Includes: Box lunch, drinks, plus special goodies from our sponsors    

Volunteer: Volunteer to help out for 2 hours (10am-Noon or Noon-2pm)  

After Party at Water Taxi Beach and Bar!

We'll keep you hydrated and cool with drinks from INGO,  a company co-founded by a Brown alumnus and RUNA, another Brown alumnus-run company.

Equinox Fitness Clubs will host a winner and 40 of his/her friends for a private group fitness class. Work with the Equinox Group Fitness experts to customize a special class at any of Equinox's New York City locations.
 
New York Yoga will be giving class packages to three runners to use at any of its Upper East Side studio locations, open 7 days a week for vinyasa flow and hot vinyasa classes.
 
Gift certificates to shop for high-tech fitted shoes, swimming, cycling and fitness apparel at JackRabbit, which was founded by Brown alumnus Lee Silverman to educate people about running.

Runner/Walker's Ferry Transportation:

10 a.m. sharp, from Manhattan at the Battery Maritime Building, located at
10 South Street (next to the Staten Island Ferry) in Lower Manhattan.

11 a.m. sharp, from Brooklyn at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, located at the foot of Atlantic Avenue (corner of Columbia Street).
