Job Listings...
Over the past 18 months, the Brown Alumni Association has significantly expanded the career tools and programs available to alumni.
To Post a Job: Employer Login Page
All other Tools: Career Navigator
In
fact, the Brown Alumni Career Navigator is
fast becoming the model program among our peer institutions.
We’ve re-launched the Brown Alumni Job Board with
enhanced functionality for job seekers and posters alike. The Job
Board currently lists 300+ positions.
These
positions range from entry level to executive level. Thousands of
alumni have either posted
jobs
or found positions through this valuable service. If you have a job
opening to post or are in a career transition, we encourage you to
use the Job Board.
For
your information, in New York we have 110 active postings. Your club
can set up an email update of active jobs in your area!
Newest
Navigator program:
In February, Alumni Relations announced our newest offering for alumni,
the Brown Executive/Career Coach Referral Program. Use the new Brown Executive/Coach Referral Program
to actively manage your career development by working with fellow
alumni, who understand the unique Brown experience.
Participating service providers’ hail from across the US and Europe
and their rates have been incentivized for the Brown alumni
community. To learn more about this and other Career Navigator Programs, please contact Heather Wilkerson, Career Programs Manager or Eve Ornstedt, Director of Career and Admission Programs.
Updated Career Resources for Alumni
CAFÉ ARTICLE:
The
Career Services team continues to listen to the requests of our
alumni! With the launch of our newest service, the
Brown
Executive/Career Coach Referral Program, we added a
resource to the current Career
Navigator tools for alumni facing more complex Career and
professional development concerns. The Navigator offers a scope of
programs covering the four general career areas: assessment,
research, job search and networking. Last fall we upgraded to a new
Job
Board platform that now averages 350+ openings, has over 2300
employers in the database, offers easy notifications about job
matches and an easier posting format for Alumni employers. We have
also upgraded the BRUnet interface by adding a LinkedIn connection,
Concentration and Careers area. BRUnet
has increased members to 5500 and is growing daily!
As alumni uncover career development
issues, strive to obtain leadership goals and encounter work
environment challenges they needed a resource to assist with these
growth opportunities and the obtainment of career satisfaction. The
use of an Executive or Career Coach enables our alums to move their
careers to the next level. Our office is proud to offer a referral
service to our alumni of a diverse, qualified pool of coaching
referrals for almost any alum looking for career or executive
coaching.
It is exciting to see what a great
wealth of coaching talent is available within the alumni community
offering a range of geographic locations, educational backgrounds and
professional experiences. Our coaches have an educational background
that not only includes coaching training but also graduate education
in a variety of fields such as psychology, business, counseling and
organizational development. Their experience touches such fields as
media, academia, manufacturing, healthcare, finance entrepreneurship
and non-profits. To further increase the accessibility of this
program to all alums we procured coaches who are at ease and some
quite prefer to work telephonically. Now our alumni from smaller
cities, rural areas or remote countries have access to the same
coaching talent as those from major metropolitan areas.
We also recognized that with so many
people struggling in this economy it is not only important to find a
great provider but also one with an affordable price tag. To further
aid our alumni in their career development, we have arranged with the
providers a special pricing package for their fellow alums.
We hope you will check out our new
program and advertise it to the alums in your area. If you hear of
alums who are working on their personal or professional branding,
struggling with moving to the next professional level or are
exploring a career move, please let them know about our referral
program.
