Sophie Elgort Bio
Sophie Elgort joined the Brown Club in New York Board in 2009. Sophie has served on the Social and Cultural committees and played an instrumental role in the planning of the 2009 Fall Kick Off event at The Gates in Chelsea. Sophie is serving her first term as Co-Chair of the Social Committee. Sophie graduated from Brown in 2008 with an A.B. in Comparative Literature with French and Spanish.
Sophie began her professional photography career shortly after graduating Brown. In the spring of 2010, Sophie launched Sophie Elgort Studio, a fashion photography company. The Studio also has an in-house production division that facilitates and executes all parts of the shoot for the client. Sophie Elgort Studio provides the photographer, equipment, and can provide location options for clients. The in-house division provides clients all the necessary materials for a flawless shoot.
Prior to launching Sophie Elgort Studio, Sophie worked in various areas of the fashion industry, including jobs with Vogue, Barneys Studio Services, Azzedine Alaia, Evyan Metzner, Christianne Celle’s Calypso, the Peggy Siegal Company, and Moet-Hennessy. In November 2009 she became the in house photographer for the fashion start up ALIOMI. During New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010 she photographed many of the featured shows and presentations, such as Alice and Olivia, Lyn Devon, Standard Finery, Thuy, Gilded Age, and Narciso Rodriguez, as well as all of the Style360/Elle Magazine events, which included Walter, Malan Breton, Clandestine Industries by Pete Wentz, EMU, and Bebe-Kardashians.
