Calling All Alumni Working for the Common Good!

Within five days of the initial announcement, 11 alums expressed an interest in listing a summer internship position with Brown Common Good Summer in NYC, a collaborative effort of Brown's new Careers in the Common Good project (CCG).

We hope you will commit to posting an internship and accepting applications from undergraduates for this summer. It's easy:

1.  NYC alumni forward internship descriptions with nonprofit, public interest, government or social enterprise organizations for posting.

2.  A representative of your organization conducts the selection of candidates and hiring process just as you would for any position.

3.  The Brown CCG team will offer an orientation for the selected students in May and will coordinate a couple of events for students and alumni during the summer.

4.  In order to ensure an in-depth experience, we suggest that the internship last for at least eight weeks (e.g., June 6 – July 29, 2011). And we ask that you consider offering a stipend for the internship to make it more accessible to students on financial aid.

5. We’d like to list a first round of internship positions by March 15, and a final round by April 15.
