The Brown Club in New York is thrilled to welcome Brown University Dean of Admission Logan Powell to address New York City alumni and friends!
The past few years have been among the most competitive ever for selective college admissions, and the pattern is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
This increasing level of excitement and complexity has been compounded by changing institutional priorities in admission, an ever more global student body and evolving financial issues. How these factors impact today's high schoolers is the topic of our presentation with Dean of Admission Logan Powell.
Please note that this is NOT a college information session, but is instead an interactive lecture designed specifically to address many of the recent trends in college admissions.
During the presentation, Dean Powell will address such items as gender balance, the changing demographics of college classes, the role of legacies and alumni volunteers, and the impact that changes in financial aid have on recipients and non-recipients alike.
This is a rare opportunity to get answers to your questions from Brown's Dean of Admission. Dean Powell, who joined Brown University in 2016, has over two decades of admissions experience, previously as director of admissions at Princeton University, and prior to that as senior associate dean of admission at Bowdoin College and senior admissions officer at Harvard.
This event is open to alumni, family, and friends. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and attend as a family. Early registration is advised – this event will sell out fast!
