Andrew Evans ’09 brings an innovative approach to magic. In 2014, he founded and built The Magic Patio—a magic speakeasy tucked in a hidden corner of San Francisco—which has quickly become the city’s most sought-after magic experience. His unique magic creations have been featured at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA, and on national television for Penn and Teller: Fool Us. Beginning in March of 2020, The Magic Patio temporarily paused all in-person events and has now shifted to hosting private, online performances. At Brown, Andrew studied engineering, theater, and creative non-fiction. He then moved to the Bay Area where he received an M.S. in Product Design from Stanford University and spent 5 years as a Design Lead at the global innovation firm IDEO. Currently, when he is not on stage at The Magic Patio, Andrew is the Magic and Illusions Lead for the San Francisco production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
