Last year, the first site specific installation took place on Thayer Street in Providence where the team installed a binocular tower viewer often associated with sightseeing. In this case, however, the viewer was adjusted to recreate the lived experience of someone impacted by the most common eye diseases in the U.S., cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
On April 29th, co-founder Daniel Solomon ’26, who is legally blind, will present the project and provide an opportunity to learn more about this groundbreaking project, its origins, the students leading the charge, the nebulous journey through city permitting, and more.
