Liberation on Broadway, directed by Whitney White MFA '15
“The best play I’ve seen this season.” - Sara Holdren, New York Magazine

The Tony Award-nominated playwright Bess Wohl and Tony Award-nominated director Whitney White MFA ’15 present a refreshingly irreverent and intensely relevant powerhouse of a play about what we inherit, what we forget, and what we’re still fighting to understand. Join us for this exciting Brown Club event to see Susannah Flood MFA ’07, Charlie Thurston MFA ’12, and the rest of the lauded cast in the Broadway production of Liberation, a New York Times Critic’s Pick.
James Earl Jones Theatre, 138 W 48th Street
between 6th & 7th Avenues
Purchase can only be made by Brown Club members* and is limited to a total of 4 tickets per purchaser. Tickets will only be distributed by a Brown Club representative at the theatre from 6:15pm to 6:45pm. Please do NOT go to the box office and please arrive no later than 6:45pm.
“If there is a show that can make the case for a Tony Award for best ensemble, it’s this one. White directs the actors like a conductor leading an orchestra.”
— The New York Times
“Liberation is a show for the current moment.”
— TimeOut New York
“The year’s best play.”
— The Wrap
“Fiery, funny and provocative.”
— The Guardian
Please note that due to the 2-1/2 hour length of the play there will not be a post-show discussion. However, we most likely will be able to take a photo with the cast and have a few minutes for informal conversation.
