Vicky Oliver Bio
Vicky Oliver has been an active member
of the Brown Club in New York for several years. She is a past
Co-President, past Secretary, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the
Career and Networking Committee.
Vicky Oliver is an award-winning author
of books on career development. Her savvy career advice has been
featured in over 243 media outlets, including the front page of the
New York Times Job Market section, the Wall Street Journal,
The New York Post, and Bloomberg TV.
Her first book, 301 Smart Answers to
Tough Interview Questions, won the 2010 Eric Hoffer award in the
Business category. “301,” a national bestseller now in its third
U.S. printing, has been translated four times and is sold in twelve
countries. Her third book, published in fall 2008, is called Bad
Bosses, Crazy Coworkers & Other Office Idiots. It won the
National Best Books 2009 Award for “Best Business Careers Book”
and the 2010 International Book Award (IBA) for Business: Reference.
It also won an Honorable Mention in the 2010 San Francisco Book
Festival in the Business category, an Honorable Mention in the 2010
New York Book Festival in the Wild Card category, and was a 2010 IBA
finalist in the Business: Careers category. Vicky also authored Power
Sales Words: How to Write It, Say It, and Sell It with Sizzle.
She gives spirited seminars on job-hunting, networking, and business
etiquette for groups of 50 to 200 people.
In addition to her involvement with the
Brown Club in New York, Vicky is currently co-Chair of the
Communications & Marketing Committee of the Brown Alumni
Association (BAA) Board of Governors, a member of the Maddock House
Committee of the BAA Board of Governors, and is also Vice President
of her class at Brown.
